Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed her 'regret' over marrying her ex-husband Ryan Scott Anderson whil

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed her 'regret' over marrying her ex-husband Ryan Scott Anderson while she was still in prison - as she opened up in a new interview about why their seemingly loved-up relationship broke down so quickly after her release.

The 32-year-old Munchausen's-by-proxy victim wed the special education teacher, 38, in a jailhouse ceremony in 2022, however their marriage ended abruptly in March - just three months after she was freed from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri.

Gypsy then reunited with her ex-fiance, Ken Urker, although she has insisted that there is 'no intimacy' between them, despite sharing a kissing selfie of the pair on her Instagram account.

Reflecting on the failed three-year romance on Thursday's episode of Good Morning America, Gypsy declared that she wished she never tied the knot while serving a seven year sentence for conspiring to kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

Speaking to Juju Chang, she said: 'People need to understand that Ryan and I had been in a relationship for three years. In those three years we had been through a lot of ups and downs.'

'Sometimes relationships just take [their] course.'

Juju then brought up some reports that surfaced last month in which it was suggested that Gypsy was 'afraid' of her former spouse, with sources alleging to The Blast that she felt he was 'controlling' and 'jealous'.

However, when asked by Juju if those claims were 'accurate', Gypsy was quick to shut them down.

'I'm not afraid of Ryan,' Gypsy responded. 'I think that there is some things that happened that I think we've both wish wouldn't have.'

When asked whether she regretted the marriage, Gypsy responded: 'I regret getting married while I was still in prison. I don't regret the relationship.'

Gypsy and Ryan were married in a prison ceremony in July of 2022.

Prior to her December release, Gypsy revealed to People that she was planning to marry Ryan - a special ed teacher in Louisiana - a second time once she was a free woman.

'We do plan on having a reception/redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that,' she said.

'Our prison wedding was just something to where we can make our vows to each other. It was something that meant something to us. And I think the party is kind of for everybody else and us, but mostly for everybody else.'

At the time of her early release, she shared her excitement about moving in with Ryan.

'I've never lived with a man. I grew up with a mom, so I didn't even grow up with a dad in the house. So, I'm like, 'I don't even know what it's like to live with a man,' she said.

Shortly after her newfound freedom, Gypsy publicly proclaimed her satisfaction with her new-found sex life.

While defending her husband from online trolls, she wrote: 'I love you...besides they jealous because you are rocking my world every night…yeah I said it, the D is fire...happy wife happy life.'

Ryan responded: 'Who said I gave a damn about what these jealous people say anyway, haha...now come get it Baby...'

But just three months after, Gypsy announced in a Facebook post that the pair had gone their separate ways.

At the time, she said: 'People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou.

'I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find … who I am.'

Last month, Ryan broke his cover to tell of his shock and devastation at their separation.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, he revealed the pair had separated over her continued relationship with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker.

He said: 'I'm not doing well with it. For me it just came out of the blue. I had no idea she still had such strong feelings for him.'

Gypsy was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri on December 28, after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence for her role in the infamous murder of her mother Dee Dee.

In what has become one of the best-known cases of Munchausen by proxy, Gypsy spent her childhood posing as a wheelchair bound invalid while Dee Dee subjected her to years of ill health, shaving her head, pumping her full of unnecessary medications, and convincing the world that she was suffering from leukemia and muscular dystrophy.

Gypsy's mother's stranglehold came to an end in 2015 when she persuaded the boyfriend she had met online, Nicholas Godejohn, to creep into their home in Springfield, Missouri, and stab her mother to death.
